Ragdolls have become the fastest growing and most desirable breed of cat according to the Cat Fancy register.  

Ragdolls are gorgeous, large, semi-longhaired cats with non-matting bunny soft fur and amazing blue eyes. They love humans and are more of a friend than a pet. They are called the "dog" of the cat world.

They are eager to please, laid back, loyal, smart, non-aggressive, beautiful, relatively quiet, and require very little maintenance. For this reason, they have become the latest pet sensation of the stars, and their popularity has soared with apartment and city dwellers alike. All kittens are raised in our bedroom with constant care.

AngelGirls Ragdoll Cattery is located in the Nation's Capitol; otherwise known as the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. We are dedicated to working on bringing back the recessive and dilute colors in the Ragdoll Breed, with genetics always in mind. We offer some of the most gorgeous Ragdolls and ship worldwide. We provide Ragdolls in lilac and chocolate, and frequently have lilacs that appear almost all white.  Even our seals, blues, reds, creams, torties, and lynxes can produce lilac kittens.

So You Want a Healthy, Friendly Angel?

When looking for a place to purchase the newest member of your family, please consider breeders with FEWER adult cats, who raise only a few litters per year, and who keeps their premises immaculate and the cats well fed, uncrowded and happy. Remember the saying, "A picture is worth a million words?"  Closely inspect pictures for cages, dirty bedding, crusty eyes, saggy coats, dirty walls, etc.

If the kittens are also given room to roam and receive early socialization by humans, then they will be friendly and have the lowest possible risk of disease and health problems. Not all breeders are alike.  Do they allow visits to their home or premises?  Do all the cats look healthy and happy?  Do they have clean food and water?  Sadly, some breeders are all about the money, and not about the health of your kitten, or about being honest.  Honesty seems to be a dying virtue... Feel free to ask us our opinion of any Ragdoll you are considering for adoption.

Your breeder should spend the money to test all of their breeders for FELV, FIV, FIP titres, HCM, PKD, heart murmurs, blood type and color. They should be willing to provide you with copies of these tests. So many breeders are claiming they have tested and have negative test results, and yet, it turns out this is not true. ASK TO SEE THE PAPERS. They should keep all cats up-to-date on their vaccines and should give monthly Revolution to prevent a variety of worms and parasites.  Cats need annual health visits and continued vaccines.  Your breeder should be willing to provide you with confirmation of a visit within the year.

Cats WILL get sick from time to time just like humans, but the majority of them should look healthy in a household.
